Consensual Qualitative Research on Music Therapists' Growth Experience as Wounded Healer

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the music therapists' growth experience as a wounded healers. In order to address the research questions thoroughly, Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) was used in analyzing a collection of interviews with 9 music therapists with professional training in music therapy or experience in psychotherapy. As a result, 5 domains, "Wound cognitive motive", "Efforts to heal wounds", "Difficulties in healing", "Personal growth during the healing process", and "Professional growth during the healing process" were derived, and 23 categories have been linked to the growth experiences of music therapists. Research has shown that music therapists generally recognize their injuries during therapist training and choose professional training courses or psychotherapy in their efforts to address them. Music therapists have experienced distress during healing, but have also experienced personal and professional growth through these processes. The results of this study show that music therapists not only recognize and recover their own injuries from professional growth as therapists but also experience personal growth through their own insights. And This research provides basic data to help a therapist¡¯s Wound recognition, heal, and grow during music therapy training.
